RipReader ("the App") is developed by Sarulian LLC. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Disc names and details you add to your bag
• Manual distance entries

Information collected automatically

• Camera data: Video recordings of disc flight for analysis. Videos are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
• Location (GPS): Used solely to measure throw distance between your position and landing spot. Location data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted.
• Analytics: We collect anonymous usage data through Mixpanel, including: app opens, throws captured (metrics only — no video), feature usage, and purchase events. For users outside the EU, EEA, and UK, analytics is enabled by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings (opt-out). For users in the EU, EEA, and UK, analytics is disabled by default and is only collected if you turn it on in Settings (opt-in), in line with GDPR.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect, store, or transmit your videos or photos
• We do not record audio
• We do not collect personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• We do not track your location in the background — GPS is only used during active distance measurement
• We do not sell or share any data with third parties for advertising purposes

3. Data Storage

All throw data, videos, disc information, and session history are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data.

Analytics data, where collected, is processed by Mixpanel. See Mixpanel's privacy policy for details.

4. In-App Purchases

Payments are processed entirely through the Apple App Store (on iOS) or Google Play (on Android). We do not collect or have access to your payment information. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

5. Third-Party Services

• Apple App Store / StoreKit (iOS): Subscription and purchase processing
• Google Play Billing (Android): Subscription and purchase processing
• Mixpanel: Anonymous usage analytics (opt-out by default; opt-in for users in the EU, EEA, and UK)

6. Children's Privacy

RipReader is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Your Choices

• You can opt out of analytics at any time in the app's Settings
• You can delete all app data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling
• You can revoke camera or location permissions in your device settings at any time

8. Your Rights (California & EU/EEA)

California residents have the right under the CCPA to request access to or deletion of personal information we hold about them. Because RipReader stores your throw data, videos, disc information, and session history locally on your device, the most direct way to exercise these rights is to delete the app or clear its storage.

Residents of the EU, EEA, and UK have rights under the GDPR to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of personal data, and to data portability. For users in these regions, analytics is disabled by default and is only collected with your explicit opt-in consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings. Sarulian LLC is the data controller for any analytics data you choose to share. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@sarulian.com.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
